Recent endorsements include tens of thousands of community leaders, seniors, advocates, and hardworking Minnesotans
Hermantown, MN (July 22, 2026)— Trina Swanson’s campaign for Congress today announced a far-reaching slate of endorsements from leaders, organizations, advocates, and individuals across northern and central Minnesota, underscoring the broad support behind her campaign for affordability and opportunity in Minnesota’s 8th District. With less than a month until the August primary, voters across Minnesota are rallying behind Swanson’s campaign.
The recent endorsements represent tens of thousands of central and northern Minnesotans, including the DFL, the DFL Senior, Rural, and Veterans Caucuses, the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees, Save the Boundary Waters Action Fund, Women Winning, We Are Rising and Resisting Indivisible group, and many notable community and union leaders.
“I am grateful and proud to have this breadth of support,” said Trina Swanson. “I am ready to fight for every person in this district in Congress, and these endorsements show the strength and momentum of our campaign. I am committed to earning the trust of every voter across the district as we share our vision for affordability, stability, community, and opportunity for Minnesota.”
Swanson’s campaign is centered on delivering tangible results and improving the lives of families and communities across Minnesota’s 8th District. As the only candidate in the Democratic primary to secure this level of grassroots backing, her fundraising underscores her broad local support: nearly 85% of the $277,000 she has raised so far has come from Minnesota-based donors.
“Trina Swanson will be a welcome voice for rural Minnesota in the US Congress,” said Theresa Keaveny, DFL Rural Caucus Chairperson. “She fights for our small towns, rural health care and emergency services, family farmers and local food production and the protection of our hunting and fishing traditions—a much needed change from Pete Stauber.”
Trina has spent the last year on a listening tour across the 8th District, focused on understanding the most important issues from every corner of the region. She built her platform in response to these conversations, and it’s resonating with voters across the region.
“The Minnesota Association of Professional Employees and our 18,000 members are proud to endorse Trina Swanson for Congress,” said Monica Weber, MAPE PAC Chair. “As Minnesota’s largest state government union, our members know firsthand the value of steady, experienced leadership in government. Trina Swanson is a proven public servant, and we look forward to working with her as she advances Minnesota’s values in Congress.”
“Trina Swanson knows that most District 8 voters oppose mining near the Boundary Waters—and if elected, she’ll work to permanently protect its watershed,” said Amanda Hefner, Director of Save the Boundary Waters Action Fund. “The Boundary Waters supports a thriving, sustainable outdoor recreation economy, and protecting it safeguards a resource that livelihoods depend on. We look forward to working with Trina Swanson in Congress to pass federal legislation preserving this Wilderness, our clean water, and public lands for generations to come.”
The campaign continues to build momentum from individuals across Minnesota focused on economic security, environmental protection, labor, healthcare, and strong public service, and those who believe Minnesota deserves experienced, community-focused representation in Washington.
