Elect Democratic Women Endorses Trina Swanson for Congress

PAC backs Swanson’s fight to lower costs and protect jobs in Minnesota’s 8th District

Hermantown,MN (November 1, 2026)— Trina Swanson’s campaign for Congress announced today an endorsement from Elect Democratic Women, the only member of Congress-led political action committee dedicated to increasing the number of women in Congress.

“The daughter of a nurse and a paper mill worker, Trina Swanson knows what it takes to make ends meet — and she’ll fight to lower costs and keep good jobs at home in Minnesota,” said Liz Gallagher, Executive Director of Elect Democratic Women. “She has the backbone and determination northern and central Minnesotans need in a leader and Elect Democratic Women is proud to endorse her for Congress.”

Founded in 2018 by Democratic members of Congress, Elect Democratic Women works to elect pro-choice Democratic women. The endorsement is part of its “The Historic Hundred” initiative to elect 100 Democratic women to the U.S. House for the first time.

“I’m honored to receive Elect Democratic Women’s endorsement and proud to stand with those working to elect Democratic women and strengthen our representation in government,” said Trina Swanson. “This endorsement reflects our shared commitment to expanding opportunity, standing up for our communities, and ensuring women have a strong voice in shaping our future.”

The endorsement from Elect Democratic Women joins a growing list of organizations that have announced their support for Swanson’s campaign including Indivisible, EMILYs List, MN AFL-CIO, Feminist Majority, Immigrants’ List, National Farmers Union PAC, the Alliance for Retired Americans, the Minnesota State Council of Machinists, the American Federation of Government Employees, Rep. Kelly Morrison,  Senator Tina Smith, Congresswoman Betty McCollum, the Committee to Protect Health Care, the DFL, the DFL Senior, Rural, and Veterans Caucuses, the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees, Save the Boundary Waters Action Fund, Women Winning, We Are Rising and Resisting Indivisible group, Education Minnesota, and community and union leaders across the region.

As she approaches election day, Swanson continues her focus on healthcare, labor, affordability, economic security, environmental protection, and strong public service, and those who believe Minnesota deserves present representation in Washington.
