Champion for family farmers, ranchers and communities supports Swanson’s campaign to represent MN-8
Hermantown, MN (October 8, 2026)— Trina Swanson’s campaign for Congress announced today the endorsement from the National Farmers Union PAC, a grassroots organization representing more than 220,000 farm families and ranchers nationwide.
The National Farmers Union PAC advocates for policies that strengthen family agriculture, support rural communities, expand fair and competitive markets, and improve the economic well-being and quality of life of farmers, ranchers, and rural Americans.
“The National Farmers Union Political Action Committee (NFUPAC) is proud to endorse Trina as we know she will be a committed voice for family farmers in Congress,” Minnesota Farmers Union President Gary Wertish said. “We look forward to working with Trina to secure a farm bill that modernizes the safety net for farmers. We also appreciate Trina’s commitment to standing up to the corporate monopolies raising costs on consumers and preventing farmers from repairing their equipment.”
Swanson has made support for Minnesota farmers and rural communities a central part of her campaign, including during her August appearance at Farmfest. She supports a farm bill that reflects the diverse needs of Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District, protects family farms, strengthens rural economies, and gives producers the certainty they need to plan for the future.
“I’m grateful for this endorsement from the National Farmers Union PAC and for the trust it represents,” said Trina Swanson. “Minnesota’s farmers and rural communities need a Representative who understands that agriculture is not one-size-fits-all: from dairy and beef to soybeans, wild rice, specialty crops, and the family farms that hold our communities together. I will fight for a farm bill and federal policies that put Minnesota producers first.”
The National Farmers Union PAC joins a growing coalition supporting Swanson’s campaign including the Minnesota State Council of Machinists, U.S. Senator Tina Smith, Congresswomen Betty McCollum and Kelly Morrison, EMILYs List, the Minnesota AFL-CIO, Feminist Majority, Immigrants’ List, the Committee to Protect Health Care, the DFL and its Senior, Rural, and Veteran’s Caucuses, the Minnesota Association of Professional Employees, Save the Boundary Waters Action Fund, Women Winning, We Are Rising and Resisting Indivisible group, Iron Range Indivisible, Bemidji Indivisible, Duluth Indivisible, Education Minnesota, and community and union leaders across the region.
Swanson is continuing to build support around an agenda focused on affordable health care, good-paying jobs, economic security, environmental protection, and effective representation for communities across Minnesota’s Eighth District.
